Sarah Brissing

Sarah Brissing has been an educator for over 21 years and currently serves as the Reading Specialist at Banneker Elementary School in nearby St. Louis, Virginia. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about helping children become confident readers and supporting families and teachers in building strong literacy foundations.
Sarah is deeply connected to the Middleburg community. She is an active member of Middleburg United Methodist Church, where she serves as a Sunday School teacher and supports children’s programming. She also serves as President of the Middleburg Library Advisory Board (MLAB), where she works alongside community members to strengthen library programming and partnerships.
As a member of the Middleburg Community Center board, Sarah is especially passionate about expanding children’s programming and strengthening collaboration between the Community Center and the Middleburg Library. She hopes to help bring enriching opportunities in culture, education, and the arts to the Center, creating experiences that elevate and inspire the community.
Sarah and her husband, Larry, are raising their three daughters in the community they love and are grateful to be part of the vibrant network of neighbors, schools, and organizations that make Middleburg such a special place.
