Our Story Started with
Mrs. Jackson

A Matriarch of Middleburg

In the mid-1940's, a group of civic minded citizens came together to make Mrs. Howell E. Jackson’s dream come to fruition: to make Middleburg the social hub of Loudoun and Fauquier County.

As one of Loudoun County’s oldest non-profits, we rely 100% on private donations to keep our doors open. We work with over 70 local nonprofits and businesses to make all of our community events and programs possible.

Over the years, the center has hosted the Kennedy's, Elizabeth Taylor, and Hank Williams, just to name a few. The residents of Middleburg have fostered a pristine public space for everybody to enjoy. Whether you're looking to host an event, or just take a walk in the park, we hope to see you here soon.

Building Strong Community
Through Strong Relationships

Our Community Guidelines

At the Middleburg Community Center, we believe that strong communities are built on strong relationships — relationships founded on trust, respect, communication, and acknowledgment.

These four pillars guide how we engage with one another as community members, partners, vendors, staff, and board members. Together, they create the foundation for a safe, welcoming, and connected community.

1. TRUST
We strive to be trustworthy by being consistent, reliable, transparent, accountable, and of high integrity in all that we do. Trust is earned through our actions and maintained by keeping our commitments to one another and to our community.

2. RESPECT
We are committed to being both respectful and respectable in how we conduct ourselves and how we treat others. Respect means valuing the contributions, boundaries, and dignity of every individual who walks through our doors.

3. COMMUNICATION
We believe open, honest, and kind communication strengthens our relationships. We practice:

  • Direct Communication – speaking clearly and truthfully without triangulation.

  • Prompt & Responsive Communication – engaging in a timely and responsible way.

  • Constructive Communication – addressing challenges with empathy and a solution-oriented mindset.

4. ACKNOWLEDGMENT
We recognize and honor different perspectives, experiences, and points of view.
Acknowledgment helps ensure that all voices feel seen, heard, and valued, and that decisions reflect the diverse fabric of our community.
